About the Author

Welcome! Pondering Corporis is the home for author C.S. Colvin, and the first in a series of fantasy novels titled “Hippocrates and The Hobgoblin: The Child of Mürindür”. Here you will find all things in the realm of Mürindür, the blog Hippocrates’ Satchel, and musings in poetry from the author.

I was born and raised in Texas, spent most of my young life in Central Texas near Austin, and went on to graduate from UT Health Science Center Medical School in Houston. I completed residency training in Emergency Medicine, served in the U.S. Army as a medical officer (AOC 62A), taught residents in military and civilian academia, and currently work in private practice. I grew up in the country, and as a result garnered a deep appreciation for the outdoors and our role as stewards of the natural habitat and wildlife.

If given the chance, I love nothing more than disappearing in the woods with my imagination and a good pair of boots.

From a young age, I’ve loved to write anything from poetry and prose to short stories. This journey of novel authorship is a milestone for me, and a promise I made to myself years ago while in college. I wanted to create a magical world where exploration of the common good, the purpose of man, and the meaning of adversity were smelted in the fires of redemption, thus crafting the hero within our own minds. Medicine may be my conduit to humanity, but my writing is the linchpin to worlds yet explored, and I hope you will join me.
